All Shades of Pink
Helping Families Fight Breast Cancer
OUR PROGRAMS
ASOP has established an umbrella program entitled P.I.N.K. (People In Need of Kindness). Various initiatives are underway to help in the fight against breast cancer, particularly with respect to lessening the stress breast cancer patients and their families may experience in handling day-to-day needs of the family. P.I.N.K. Programs are designed to be stress relievers for breast cancer families by raising the spirits of the patients and their families during a time of concern and worry.

Emergency (Utility) Assistance Program
All Shades of Pink has begun fundraising efforts to enable us to partner with area hospitals to be a stop-gap resource to breast cancer families in need of assistance regarding payment of a utility bill for services about to be cut-off or suspended. At this time, assistance is primarily available to individuals living in Prince George's County. However, depending on our funding levels residents of surrounding counties may apply.
Assistance may be sought for utility services (i.e. electric, gas, water and land line phone servce). We are unable to address other financial needs at this time. Click here (updated form) to download the guidelines and application. Requests will be considered by the review board. Applications for consideration MUST include (1) a completed application form with requested attachments, (2) a properly executed medical confirmation letter from physician currently overseeing your treatment of chemotherapy and/or radiation regimens only and (3) copies of utility bill(s) you are seeking assistance for that you are in receipt of a termination notice. Please, no phone calls or emails. Due to the volumne of requests, incomplete applications will not be considered.
Kids Education Program
ASOP realizes that when a family member such as a mother (or father) has breast cancer, it affects the entire family. Often, young people do not fully understand all that is going on except that their parent is sick. Some parents elect not to discuss the matter for children are too young. With this in mind, we have published a wonderful 28-page coloring book geared to youth 6 to 12 years of age to help them cope and understand what may happen once mom has been disagnosed with breast cancer. You may request a FREE copy of the "It's Okay to Jump!" coloring book at the "Pink Cafe". Delivery in 5 to 7 days.
