As we know, life holds a lot of uncertainties. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2009, and recently underwent a mascectomy on the 22 of September. Prior to surgery I was bestowed with this lovely pink and white crocheted. It brought tears of joy to my eyes. It was heartfelt to receive something so special from an organization, in which I had never met any of the members. This is truely God sent. This is unconditional love, and I thank god for your love and support. I would welcome an opportunity to become a member of this organization. Thank you!

I would like to start by saying what a wonderful program this is. My interest begain in a Walmart check out line. The woman behind me had about 15-20 skeins of all types of pink yarn. My curiousity got the best of me, and I asked what she was going to make. She filled my ears about the Shades of Pink Project to help families fight breast canser. I told her she was doing great work. Well, I 've just printed the volunteer application so I too can participate in such a heart-warming cause. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Sherri

the love of strangers is a great love. The blanket I received on March 27 at DCH came from a place that I did not existed, but touched me beyond belief. ASOP greatly deserves its recent award from PG County.Thank you seems small to say to these women who are doing so much.
