Apr 23, 2009: The second annual P.I.N.K. event -- 2009 Dinner & Silent Auction was a resounding success. The event was held at the Newton White Mansion where Maryland Delegate Joanne C. Benson, Marc Heyison, Co-Founder of Men Against Breast Cancer and Mary Lingebach, Nurse Specialist for Doctors Community Hospital were honored. The dinner, catered by C&C Catering Inc. was outstanding and over 185 guests were in attendance. Ms. Heather Asanti of Congressman Steny Hoyer's office read a special congratulatory letter to the organization and Ms. Nina Smith presented ASOP with a special Citation from Gov. Martin O'Malley's Office.
Apr 20, 2009: ASOP receives engraved pewter tray as a recipient of the Maryland Governor's Volunteer Service Award recognition for group volunteers. Receiving the award on behalf of ASOP was Denice Whalen-White and Phyllis Slade Martin. The presentation ceremony and reception was held at the Maryland Hall for Creative Arts in Annapolis.
Apr 17, 2009: ASOP receives Group Volunteer of the Year award from Prince George's Volunteer Center at the University of Maryland Conference Center Marriott. Award and Governor's Volunteer Service Certificate was presented to group by Executive Director Teresa Gardner-Williams and Board President, Vania McNeary.

Mar 23, 2009: All Shades of Pink has been selected by the Prince George's County Volunteer Center Board as the 2009 Group Volunteer of the Year. The award ceremony will be April 17, 2009 at the University of Maryland Conference Center Marriott at 7:00 pm. Mar 21, 2009: ASOP was the recipient of a generous donation at the Pretty In Pinstripes 2009 Power Luncheon Honoring Exceptional Women in Business & Government, which was held at the Camelot by Martin's in Upper Marlboro, MD. Judge Glenda Hatchett was the keynote speaker and ASOP was provided a table to showcase our organization. Ms. Whalen-White expressed warm thanks to Ms. Sharon Jarrett and Jarrett Affairs Production as well as all in attendance for being a part of such a wonderful event.
Mar 14, 2009: Founder & President Denice Whalen-White participated in the Mellennium-Seat Pleasant Chapter of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Club, Inc.'s Third Annual Dr. Julianne Malveaux Women's History Brunch. Ms. Whalen-White was their keynote speaker for the afternoon. Speaking to the theme "Women's History is Our History" she encouraged women to make history every day by helping another in our climb for success. Ms. Whalen-White was presented with a beautiful letter set and a generous donation to ASOP.

nual Women's Conference held at the University of Maryland Conference Center and sponsored by Doctors Community Hospital. Many visited our booth and signed our register to make comfort blankets or be added to our mailing list. Wonderful health information on a variety of topics such as Heart Disease, Breast Cancer, Menopause, Weight Control was presented. A great time was had by all who participated. Sept 20, 2008: Denice Whalen-White was a guest speaker at the Faith Tabernacle United Holy Church's Women of Purpose & Destiny Prayer Breakfast which was held in Washington, DC. She spoke to her passion for breast cancer awareness and to the mission of All Shades of Pink. Ms. Whalen-White informed the group of our need for volunteers to make and donate pink & white blankets to extend our Comfort Blanket Program to other area hospitals. Members from Purity Baptist Church were also in attendance and presented Ms. Whalen-White with 3 blankets to help in the growth of the Comfort Blanket program. Other representatives from other area churches inquired as to how they too can help in this worthy cause.
